Job Description:
A role exists for an Intermediate SQL Developer in an online organization with a good history and strong BI Team.
This role requires a motivated, energetic, inquisitive and highly numerate person who has a solid technical base but also possesses an appreciation for numbers and understands the value that can be derived from interrogating them.
Required Qualification:
Matric with 3 years relevant work experience or Undergraduate degree with majors in Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar.
Alternatively, at least 3 years work experience in a business intelligence role will be considered.
3-5 Years’ experience with relational databases, writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures and functions (candidate must be willing to support legacy SQL server systems in a business critical context).
Programming experience in Python (Preferred) or another object orientated language, Java (would be a plus), c# (would be a plus).
Experience building data pipelines.
Data visualization and reporting experience.
Be able to give accurate technical estimates.
Conceptualizing new solutions based on business requirements.
Demonstrates consistent behavior aligned to the Combined F and Organizational Culture.
Knowledge of data modeling (Normal Form, etc) – is highly beneficial.
Exposure to event streaming technologies, such as Kafka.
Experience with or knowledge of Docker or something similar.
Experience with or knowledge of K8 (Kubernetes).
Experience with Avro, Protobuff (serialization, de-serialization).
Knowledge of SOA / Micro-services.
Knowledge of design patterns & Programming Styles.
Job Responsibilities:
Integration of new sources of data into company databases so that it can also be analyzed and included in relevant processes and reports.
Integration of data into relevant workflow processes, with the specific aim of continuously improvement and data optimization.
Work with all levels of development from analysis through implementation and support.
Develop and test issues aligned to specifications.
Work with the project team across functional areas.
Analysis of data from various sources to ensure that the business acts proactively on the information at its disposal.
Continually searching for new and useful ways to obtain, integrate and analyze data that is relevant to the company’s business model.
Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
